Meet the FRÉnd: Pascale Bercovitch – Flying from Win to Win

Pascale Bercovitch has always pursued her dreams, making them her goals, and pushing hard to win. Pascale is a TV personality, model, and successful athlete, with an inspiring story. At the age of 17, while on her way to school, she lost both of her legs in a horrific train accident. To most, this would create a nearly insurmountable obstacle in life. For Pascale, it was a challenge. She became a serial dreamer, and a winner.

Training for gold

When you first meet Pascale, you’ll notice her smile. It draws you in to her face, which is full of light and empowering generosity. She’s an unstoppable woman with a big heart, and it won’t be long before you stop seeing her wheelchair. She has no legs, and makes no excuses. Today, at age 49, Pascale is a wife and mother, a best-selling writer, and an international speaker. From her home in Tel Aviv, she is currently writing a new book and training to win gold in Kayaking at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

 

Training to win

Every day, she is up at 4am, on time for her regular kayak training session with her coach. She never misses a session, and she trains to win. Pascale also has a demanding day job, giving motivational speeches to leading business and corporate managers. She is a female athlete and a mom, motivating the movers and shakers of the business elite. She motivates because she holds the credentials for motivation: as the only Olympic-level athlete to compete in three different Olympic Games in three different sports, Pascale is a Guinness World Record holder. In 2016 in Rio, Pascale came 8th in Kayaking, in 2012, she came 6th in Handbiking at the London Paralympics, and was ranked 4th at the Climbing World Championship. In 2008 in Beijing, she came 8th.
