Pilates With Ashlee

Pilates With Ashlee is one of LA's best kept secrets offering one-on-one training to help you achieve and maintain your specific goals.  Owner Ashlee Carignan has made her studio into a positive environment that appeals to everyone. Ashlee is one of FRÉ's inspiring fitness and body positivity ambassadors. Ashlee is now a candidate for The Next Pilates Anytime Instructor 2017 and she has our support.

As part of our Meet The Ambassador Series, we asked Ashlee a few questions.

How did your pilates career begin?

I grew up playing competitive soccer so I've always had an active lifestyle. After being in and out of gyms through my early 20s, I needed something different and more stimulating, where I could lengthen and tone, but not bulk. A close friend told me about Pilates (this was about 13 years ago, and actually this December will be my 10th year training and I'll be considered a "Master Trainer"). I saw a local studio as I was driving to work, signed up, and knew from my first class this was what I wanted to do!

I sought out instructors to learn about how to get certified, and searched the internet to find out: How much did it cost? Could I make a living? Where do I begin? At the time I was a couple years out of college and drowning in student loans, so I knew I wasn't able to take another loan out to complete my training, so I found an apprentice and pitched her to train me in exchange for working at her studio. Just like that I was spending every waking moment doing my training, working full time, and trying to hustle clients.

Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because everyday is a new day I get to meet and help people, either by rehabbing an injury, making people feel confident about themselves, or just providing a safe, positive place where they can come to relax and reboot. After teaching for 10 years I'm more than ever loving my practice and my newly launched boutique studio! Ultimately my goals are to make PWA a house hold make and create a PWA community.

How does FRÉ impact your skin? Why do you feel connected to FRÉ?

FRÉ has 100% changed my skin for the better, leaving it feeling nourished, hydrated, smooth, but most of all I have a certain GLOW to my face I never had before. It's unbelievable in fact, because I was never a big believer that just one line of products can improve your skin. Usually you're buying your moisturizer, serums, and eye creams from 10 different brands, but with FRÉ's easy 3-Step program I'll never have to do that again!

I connect with FRÉ in a couple different ways. Not only is the company passionate and genuine about their product, there is no hard-sell pushing here, and there doesn't have to be since the products speak for themselves. What I LOVE most is the integrity of FRÉ as a whole. They do not test on animals, their products are 100% vegan, sulfate free, and they also give back to the environment by planting an Argan tree for every purchase. Doesn't get much better than that, and I truly feel lucky to have found and connected with them.

Are you involved in any social or environmental causes you would like to share with the FRÉ community?

Yes! Dog rescue and training - I love my babies and if my boyfriend ever lets me lol, I'd love to foster dogs and help local shelters with overcrowding!

Can you share an inspirational tip about wellness/fitness/beauty that really helps and inspires you?

*Be honest with yourself, your instincts are usually right.

*Listen and be kind to your body, you've got one!

*If you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do GREAT things

LASTLY—-> Pilates isn't just about a long, lean body, its about perfecting the mind, body and soul (Ashlee Carignan)

Anything else you would like FRÉ women to know?

I highly recommend FRÉ to everyone! It's currently the best skincare on the market for woman with a healthy, sweaty, active lifestyle.
