How did your career begin?

My career in nursing began when I was 18 and working in the NYS mental institution as a licensed nurse. I later found myself in NYC working under one of the best plastic surgeons in the world, who took me under his wing. I found my passion there, in making people look and feel their best.

"There is nothing better in my mind than knowing someone feels truly happy in their own skin."

Why are you passionate about what you do?

I am passionate about what I do because when people leave and feel good I immediately pick up on that and feel great to. There is nothing better in my mind than knowing someone feels truly happy in their own skin.

Tell us a bit about your holistic approach to beauty.

After years of seeing thousands of patients I have found there is a huge psychological role that injectables and skin care regimes plays in one’s daily life. I found that when people are able to be comfortable with a natural aging path rather than altering their own natural look they are happier over all in their life and in the outcome of their treatments. My goal is to help each of my patients find the balance between a healthy lifestyle, incorporating yoga, natural healers, and great quality skin care routines, and then preventative Botox and filler treatments that help them age gracefully and in the most natural way while looking refreshed.

What are your top tips when it comes to skincare for women who often work out?

Almost all of my current patients that I have brought into my business are very health conscious, which makes me very happy. For those who are doing exercises on the matt, sweating, or touching bars where bacteria love to hide, my biggest tip is bring your face wash with you where you go. After class, rinse your face with warm water, use your face wash, rinse it all off again with warm water, then splash cold water on your face to close the pores!

Which skincare routine do you recommend to women who often work out?

A skin care routine I recommend for women who work out is to always bring a wash with them to the gym, especially if they are sweating.

Wash their hands first, and then use a drop of facewash the size of a quarter and in circular motion with the finger tips massage and cleanse for one minute. Then pat dry - never rub or pull the skin dry. Otherwise, in a morning and night routine, use a wash, a serum, or oil and a night time cream, and in the morning substitute night cream with a great sunblock moisturizer!

How do outdoor workouts accelerate the aging process and what can be done to prevent it?

Our door activities cause impact on the body, for example, running, jumping jacks, anything in which you jump down and the face “jiggles,” will trigger the elasticity of the face to weaken. I always notice runners to have skin on the face that is a little lax. I think using antioxidants and skin firming treatments to help with the collagen and elasticity of the skin is key to prevent the breakdown of this while working out.

What advice would you give to women whose skin is prone to post-workout breakouts?

Again, my biggest advice is bringing your face wash with you. Exfoliate 2 -3 times a week; treat yourself to a facial once every 4-6 weeks. And if they are really breaking out, incorporate a light laser treatment like the YAG laser or IPL; it can help kill acne bacteria and shrink pore size to limit the break outs.

What food(s) are best to make skin glow?

I recommend having salmon 1 or 2 times a week – the next day it gives a great little glow from all of the omegas. Also add a dash of turmeric in your smoothie or in your food each day, as a supplement. Turmeric is filled with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components, so for acne-prone skin it’s always my go-to recommendation; also, it is shown to help with hormonal imbalances to help lighten pigmentation issues.

I think the skin care line FRÉ has produced is perfect for those who are on the go and working out, especially me as a mama. It makes the skin feel and look so refreshed, especially after a rigorous workout. I totally give this line a thumbs up! I’m heading to a hot yoga class now with my FRÉ face wash.

What FRÉ enthusiasts say about our products:

*****Daniella,Fitness Instructor

I am a fitness instructor and finally found a skincare routine specially made for my sweaty life. 123FRÉ gives all my skin needs. The first time I tried it, I have to say I was blown away by the quality of the 3 products! There simply is no other way to put it. And what surprised me is that one week only after using my new skincare routine, I wasn't the only one to notice that my skin looked better; people complimented me for having this "certain glow".

*****Jennifer, Runner

I run every day and what I love about my new skincare routine is the combination of lightweight and very gentle textures that are perfect for sweating skin with a luxurious, simple and high-performance routine. The scent is also amazing and you can feel every single detail was taken into account to answer the needs of my regularly sweating skin both in terms of experience and result. I just love to sweat with FRÉ.
